Winning Conditions for Championship Sailors

Monday 14th August 2006

Britain’s top sailors kicked off their fight for the 2006 UK Laser National Championship title in Largs this afternoon (Monday).

It was worth the day and a half wait for wind, with officials extending the racing after a good breeze filled in for the 250 competing boats.

Jon Emmett and Steve Cockerill have both won all their radial races.

Dan Ward leads the Laser Standards fleet with West Lancashire youngster, Thomas Hewitt top of the 4.7 fleet.

There are four more days of racing left at the UK Laser National Championships. The prestigious competition is hosted by the Scottish Sailing Institute in conjunction with Largs Sailing Club.
